Friederike Mayröcker (Viena 1924-2021) fue una de las autoras más reconocidas de su generación, desde los años 50 publicó más de ochenta obras, poesía, prosa, libros infantiles, textos escénicos y obras radiofónicas.
Su poesía busca sugerir y seducir a un tiempo con todas las herramientas del lenguaje. Fue miembro de la Academia de las Artes de Berlín, del Senado Austríaco para la Cultura, del foro Stardtpark (“Parque Municipal”) y de la Academia Alemana para la Lengua y la Poesía de Darmstadt. Desde el año 2015 es ciudadana honoraria de Viena y en su honor, la Universidad de Innsbruck creó en 2022 una “Cátedra Friedrike Mayröcker de Historia Literaria y Cultural de Austria.
Además, esta autora fue nominada dos veces al Premio Nobel; en 1963 recibió el premio Theodor Körner; en 1968, el premio al radioteatro de los ciegos de guerra (compartido con Ernst Jandl, autor Arrebato) y en 1996, el premio de literatura de la Academia de Bellas Artes de Baviera, entre otros. Aún así, han sido pocas las obras de esta autora las que se han traducido al castellano y nosotros estamos tan contentos de poder publicar la primera antología de esta autora al castellano.
Friederike Mayröcker (Vienna 1924-2021) was one of the most renowned authors of her generation, publishing more than eighty works of poetry, prose, children’s books, stage plays and radio plays since the 1950s.
Her poetry seeks to suggest and seduce at the same time using all the tools of language. She was a member of the Berlin Academy of Arts, the Austrian Senate for Culture, the Stardtpark (“Municipal Park”) forum and the German Academy for Language and Poetry in Darmstadt. Since 2015, she has been an honorary citizen of Vienna, and in her honor, the University of Innsbruck created in 2022 a “Friederike Mayröcker Chair for Austrian Literary and Cultural History”.
In addition, she was twice nominated for the Nobel Prize; in 1963 she received the Theodor Körner Prize; in 1968, the prize for the radio drama of the war-blind (prize that shared with Ernst Jandl, an Arrebato author and her partner), and in 1996, the literature prize of the
Bavarian Academy of Fine Arts, among others. Although there aren't many of her works that have been translated into Spanish, we are delighted to be able to publish the first-ever anthology of her translated works.
