Danez Smith es une poeta y performer afroamericane, queer y seropositive que no ha dejado de ganar premios desde que comenzó a publicar. La suya es una poesía fresca, directa, arropadora y sincera. Nace desde la disidencia y hacia allí se dirige, sin miedo ni concesiones.

Their presentation of the Lambda Literary Award for Gay Poetry in 2014 is especially remarkable, being an award that recognizes the contributions of LGTBIQ+ themed works to the community and society.
